Juxtaposed Existences, 2023.

My photographic series Juxtaposed Existences explores the themes of dislocation and belonging, love and loss, and the duality of feeling at home while being a stranger in a foreign land. As an artist, I continuously pursue new perspectives, and this series is a departure from my previous works. It takes place in different locations with different people, which allows me to infuse each photograph with my emotions and experiences during my trip to Cyprus.

The process of creating this series has been a journey of self-discovery. It has pushed me out of my comfort zone, encouraged me to experiment with new perspectives, and embrace the unknown. Through my photographs, I aim to bring a similar aesthetic and emotional sensibility to my everyday surroundings in Humboldt, creating a visual exchange between these contrasting environments.

By slowing down and paying attention to the aesthetics of my everyday life, I have developed a renewed gratitude for the beauty of seemingly mundane moments. Through my photographs, I want to evoke a sense of meditation in the viewer, inviting them to reflect on the beauty and significance of the everyday.

In summary, this series represents my response to the world around me, a celebration of life in all its complexities, and a visual dialogue between contrasting environments.
